2011 Michigan Gubernatorial Inauguration Feature from MessageMakers on Vimeo.
MessageMakers was selected to plan, develop and produce the inauguration ceremony for Michigan’s newly elected governor, Rick Snyder, on January 1, 2011. The selection of MessageMakers was based on its reputation for performance and results for a client serving on the inaugural committee. The only specs given to us were: “We want to have the ceremony on the Capitol steps and to be media-friendly, with staging, viewing, sound and seating for 1,000 or more attendees.”
We started with 3D computer drawings and then coordinated stage design and construction with sound, program flow and technical interface for radio and TV broadcasters. MessageMakers directed the program cue-to-cue and, immediately after the inauguration, produced a video of the day’s events that was shown at that evening’s reception. MessageMakers also provided lighting design and technical execution for the reception.
The inauguration was flawless and the governor was quite pleased with “The Promise of Michigan,” which shares the potential of state government. This video also recently won an Addy Award for its quality.
Here are some comments from committee members…
